Varicose veins treatment method
Venous insufficiency (varicose veins), i.e., characteristic widening of peripheral veins, is a common problem affecting even half of the population over 50 years of age. There are many treatment options for lower limb varicose veins, such as compression stockings, surgical treatment, and minimally invasive treatment, including laser treatment or non-thermal methods such as MOCA.
Mechano-chemical ablation of varicose veins
MOCA with the use of the set for venous insufficiency treatment device is based on inserting a catheter with radially arranged blades into the inefficient saphenous vein or small saphenous vein. During the procedure, the catheter moves inside the vein. The blades irritate the inner lining of the vein. At the same time, a sclerosing substance is injected. The combination of both techniques (mechanical and chemical) increases the effectiveness of the procedure, i.e., obliteration of varicose veins. The procedure is basically painless and is performed under local anesthesia (without tumescence). Immediately after the procedure, patients are mobilized and discharged home.
