Intended purpose:
The spinal anesthesia set is intended for administering medications (a local anesthetic and/or a narcotic) into the subarachnoid space to produce anesthesia and analgesia. Subarachnoid anesthesia needles are also used for collecting cerebrospinal fluid samples during a lumbar puncture.
