The large vessel catheterization kit is intended for short-term use in a clinical setting for the following purposes:

• Administration of fluids and medicinal products (infusion therapy);
• Central venous pressure (CVP) monitoring;
• Venous blood sampling;
• Delivery of parenteral nutrition.

The Central Venous Catheter Kit consists of:

  • catheter;
  • needle;
  • guidewire in dispenser;
  • dilatator;
  • scalpel;
  • syringe;
  • butterfly with clamp;
  • luer lock caps (in a number corresponding to the number of lumens).

The catheters has a non-communicating polyurethane, radiopaque shaft with printed centimeter insertion depth marks. They are available in single, double triple and quadruple lumen version. Each lumen branches at the hub into a labeled extension tube for infusion of fluids, equipped with a flow clamp and luer lock port and has holes for each lumen near the atraumatic tip. Separate lumens allow to infuse and draw fluids simultaneously.
